The challenge
A logistics operator running a growing fleet of delivery vehicles was coordinating dispatch manually — phone calls, radio, and a shared spreadsheet to assign drivers to routes and track which deliveries were completed. As the fleet grew, this approach made it difficult to see where vehicles actually were, spot delays before a customer complained, or reassign a driver quickly when a vehicle broke down or a route changed mid-day.
Dispatchers had no real-time visibility into vehicle locations or driver status, and generating even basic operational reports meant manually compiling data from paper logs and messaging threads at the end of each day.
Our approach
We built a fleet management and dispatch platform centered on a live map view of the entire fleet, so dispatchers can see vehicle locations, assigned routes, and delivery status in one screen instead of piecing it together from phone calls. Dispatch itself became a structured workflow: routes and stops are assigned to drivers through the platform, and status updates (en route, delayed, delivered) flow back automatically instead of relying on a driver to call in.
A companion driver mobile view lets drivers see their assigned stops, update delivery status, and flag issues (a blocked route, a failed delivery attempt) directly from the road, replacing the informal radio-and-phone coordination the team relied on before. Historical trip and delivery data is captured continuously, giving the operations team a real data source for planning instead of reconstructing it from memory at the end of the day.
Outcome
Dispatchers now have live visibility into the fleet instead of relying on drivers to call in, and reassigning a route mid-day is a few taps in the platform rather than a round of phone calls. Operational data that used to live in paper logs and message threads is now captured automatically as trips happen, giving the team a real record to review and plan from.
